The end of fish?

The amount of fish caught in our oceans more than quadrupled between 1950 and 2006, pushing fish populations around the world into steep decline.

This pair of maps from the World Wide Fund for Nature's Living Planet Report 2012 shows the heavy demands we're making on our oceans now – demands that can't be sustained. The areas coloured red are the most intensively fished:
