Thirty per cent of the American public doesn't believe humans are the cause of our warming planet. There is a simple reason why (with thanks to the Climate Reality Project):

The fossil fuel industry has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into disinformation campaigns aimed at protecting their profits. So far they've succeeded, at least in part. The US still doesn't have comprehensive climate legislation, and carbon emissions continue to rise.
